Decision Day!

Today would see someone crowned Fritz Follies Champion Golfer but who?

Our rules state “The monthly outing will consist of one round. The monthly outing scores, Follies Trophy scores and the President’s Cup scores will be based on the stableford score of the round specified in the fixtures page only. The Trophy will be the total stableford scores of the best three rounds over the season.”  13 Follies showed up at Oundle Golf course – some with hopes of overhauling the leader, others playing with a different objective – to avoid the wooden spoon.

Les sadly was injured and could not advance his own cause and we wish him a speedy recovery. As always he had arranged great weather, especially for mid October, except for a heavy 5 minute shower early on.

Of course, the final scores are a secret otherwise Les would be on his own at the Supper so you’ll need to appear at the Black Horse on Friday 6th November to learn the outcome.

I am able to declare that Jim Daley won Nearest the Pin on the 13^th – the fact that he then 3-putted changes nothing!

Andy kindly donated a prize of 3 balls for Nearest the Pin not necessarily on the green on the 9^th which Geoff Delany won from off the green – but pretty close.

Oundle was certainly a more testing course than most we play with at least 3 evil tee shots where a wide gully has to be carried. Very satisfying when you succeed.
